Andre Cuesta, who became blind three years ago due to injuries, attends an annual event organized by Alaska Airlines for the visually impaired and their guide dogs to climb aboard a 737 Boeing aircraft for a mock flight demonstration.  Andre's guide dog, Thoreau, was raised in our group!

    Patti passed away on August 29, 2014

    We will miss her enthusiasm, spunk, and positive attitude.  She was a beautiful person who has left behind many wonderful memories and warm thoughts.

  • DAN DIERKS

    Nov 20, 1947 - Dec 2, 2010

     

    Dan passed away suddenly on  while vacationing in Aruba with his wife, Sally Avenson. Dan and his family raised 4 dogs for Guide Dogs for the Blind. He is remembered, loved and celebrated by not only his family & friends, but also by his puppy raising group, Guide Puppies of Seattle, for his contribution and consistently upbeat positive attitude and support.

  • IMPOSSIBLE IS NOTHING

    Puppy raiser, Sam Bridgman, was diagnosed in 2006 at the age of 15 with Friedreich’s Ataxia, a rare genetic, neuro-degenerative, multi-system, life-shortening disorder which afflicts about one in 50,000 people.

  • EZRA SHERMAN

    Ezra Sherman passed away February 5, 2009, from AML Leukemia. 10-year-old Ezra's family raised puppies with Guide Puppies of Seattle.  Read Ezra's Blog

    In memory of Ezra, a Pink Dogwood tree was donated by Seattle area puppy raisers and planted on the Guide Dog Campus in Oregon. The tree was later replaced with a flowering crabapple.
